Andreas Stahlberg, part-time strongman, assistant nurse, and gym owner, will represent Sweden during his first appearance in the 2019 Tachi Palace World’s Strongest Man. The 29 year old stands 6’4” and weighs in at 364lbs. He is seeking a spot in the Final during his WSM debut.
Growing up, Andreas was bullied at school after he moved from FIN to SWE at 10 yrs old, because he couldn’t speak language properly. That’s how he found spark to start lifting weights. Prior to lifting weights, Andreas competed in Chess tournaments from age 12-17. He is a former Swedish Junior Champion in Chess.
Eventually, Andreas wanted to follow in hi dad’s footsteps, who competed at high level in SM in ’80s & ’90s, vs Kaz and Jon Pall Sigmarsson. His dad also competed in powerlifting & bodybuilding. He was one of the strongest men in Finland.
Is it complicated having your father as coach?
