Kevin Faires is making his first appearance at the 2019 Tachi Palace World’s Strongest Man. This part-time strongman also works in the construction business working with fire suppression systems where he instals pipe for sprinklers in commercial buildings. From Provo, Utah, this 29 year old strongman stands 6’2” and weighs 270lbs.
Kevin told us, he is looking forward to “seeing how my prep has paid off and how I’ll do against the giants.” In regards to balancing work and training he says, “if you want to be the best, you have to make the time.”
Growing up, Kevin played football, baseball, and wrestled. He wanted to become a strongman because, “like wrestling, it’s you against another competitor. In strongman, it’s you against the weight.”
In 2007, Kevin experienced an unfortunate turn of events when he was accidentally run over by a car. After being hospitalized for 10 days, he didn’t think he would be as athletic as he used to. It took Kevin over 1 year to get back to 80%.
