EUROPE’S STRONGEST MAN 2014
There were two phenomenal tests of strength at this year’s event: who would be named Europe’s Strongest Man for 2014, and who would smash the World Deadlift Record.
We saw some of the greatest athletes in a generation compete, and after the closest of contests, two Icelandic Strongmen triumphed. And it all happened in front of the biggest crowd ever to attend a live Strongman show.
Hafþór Björnsson took the title of Europe’s Strongest Man, although with a nickname like Thor, maybe we shouldn’t be surprised though…
Benedikt Magnusson smashed the Deadlift world record with a 461kg lift, Eddie Hall came in second place lifting 446kg (and setting a new British record!) and in joint-third place were Laurence Shahlaei and Martin Wildauer with a lift of 425kg each.
