2021 SBD World’s Strongest Man Championship Event Line-Up to Include First-Ever Titan’s Turntable and Epic Train Pull in Sacramento, Calif.
Sacramento, Calif. (May 6, 2021) – The 2021 SBD World’s Strongest Man (WSM) Championship today announced the event line-up for this year’s competition taking place from June 15-20, 2021. Twenty-five of the world’s top strongmen are slated to face off in an epic series of events in Sacramento, including the first-ever Titan’s Turntable where athletes will push an antique locomotive 180 degrees. The 19th century JW Bowker steam engine will be sitting on top of a California State Railroad Museum Turntable, originally built in 1911.
Additional events include the REIGN Keg Toss, featuring 35 pound kegs courtesy of REIGN Total Body Fuel; Fingal’s Fingers, a WSM original event named after the mythical Scottish warrior that sees athletes raising and toppling poles ranging from 400 to 660 pounds down a 25-meter course; the KNAACK® Deadlift, which will feature KNAACK® jobsite boxes as legendary and durable as the World’s Strongest Man event itself; and WSM classic, the Train Pull, where athletes will pull a train car weighing between 50 and 80 tons down a 20-meter track in a race against time, marking the first time this event has been in the WSM line-up since 2003.
The 2020 WSM reigning champion, Oleksii Novikov (UKR), will look to defend his title against Tom Stoltman (GBR), Luke Stoltman (GBR), Robert Oberst (Santa Cruz, Calif. USA), Kevin Faires (Provo, Utah, USA), JF Caron (Quebec, CAN), Mark Felix (GBR) and four-time World’s Strongest Man champion Brian Shaw (Fort Lupton, Colo., USA) and several others.
